This model was developed with Josh over a number of years. The body shape is our Concert model which was inspired by vintage guitars from the 1940’s. The shape has been modernised & the size sits nicely in between our Mini and OM models. It is a smaller full size guitar (00-000) great for blues, country, folk and finger style playing.
For Josh’s signature version the body was made deeper and is 120mm (4.73inch) at the lower bout. The top is minimalist with no rosette, letting the beautiful grain of the Queensland Blue Fig stand out. The head has a book-matched cap of feature grade Australian blackwood and Brass (gold) tuning machines. The Brass (gold) hardware was chosen by Josh as it is a material that he worked with in his trade as a plumber. Finally the special fretboard inlay is a copy of Josh’s arm Tattoo. The inlay is made from Victorian Ash that grows near his home. It symbolises the great Yarra river and the location of the Half Mile Harvest studio in relation to it.
The tattoo inlay was the initial inspiration for this special guitar which was first discussed between Martin Pratley and Josh in the back room of a Brisbane concert hall in late 2019. This is an amazing sounding guitar that has already been used to write new songs for Josh and the Teskey Brothers band.
