Note: The bridge black ground wire is about 3″ long (7.5 cm) this is normal and all new Fender Tele Tex Mex pickup sets have this.
That short ground wire is there to slide under the metal tele bridge plate to include it in the ground circuit.
You can also extend the wire to go the back of the pot.
